Tannay is an old market town with shops and vineyards, and is the gateway to the green and undulating countryside of the Morvan national park. This part of the Nivernais is beautiful farming country with small fields, many trees and ancient villages. it was from here that the timer was cut and floated to Paris in log trains. This is a rural idyll and is perfect for those who enjoy a quite cruise through unspolit countryside. The medieval town of Clamecy is not to be missed. It has many half timbered buildings, ancient streets and some excellent restaurants.
